PHE Canada Mentorship

Are you an emerging leader looking to expand your knowledge and growth in the world of Physical and Health Education (PHE)? Are you navigating your PHE professional journey and thinking about your next steps?

PHE Canada’s National Mentors recognize the importance of having equitable access to advice, guidance, and resources. Our experienced and knowledgeable mentors are here to support you with:

  • Increasing your confidence, capacity, and motivation;
  • Gaining diverse pedagogical insights from shared experiences;
  • Validating your career decisions, developing pathways for your community of practice, and building your interview skills to help launch your career;
  • Expanding your perspectives of wise practices in the world of PHE; and,
  • Deepening your knowledge and understanding on topics such as: quality PHE, classroom management techniques, health and well-being, land-based learning, cultural responsiveness, assessment, adaptive PHE, sport and leadership, and so much more!

PHE Canada Mentees will be awarded a completion package once they finish the program. The overall goal of our program is to foster a stronger sense of belonging within the PHE community for all, to close gaps and eliminate barriers in mentorship opportunities for equity-deserving groups and those with intersecting identity factors. Therefore, the Mentee application form will now include voluntary self-identification options. This information will be stored internally in our database and used to connect Mentors and Mentees who prefer to partner with those that have similar lived experiences, identity/identities, and backgrounds. We will not share your self-identification information with anyone unless you have listed this information in your bio.
