Student Centre

Once your PHE chapter is activated, here are three ways to provide knowledge sharing at your university.

Virtual Professional Development Opportunities

Want to create your own podcast? Want to create your own professional development opportunity? Here are some ways you can lead online professional development while you are in university.

  1. Host a PHE webinar, series of webinars, or virtual event for your peers on specific PHE related topics
  2. Create a podcast that supports PHE advocacy
  3. Create a PHE radio show on Spotify
  4. Create a blog or vlog to discuss topics pertaining to PHE
  5. Host a Twitter Chat about a PHE related topic

In-House Professional Development Opportunities

During your university program, there are many opportunities for in-house learning. Engaging your chapter to present a PHE focused professional development session for your generalist peers is a great way to encourage knowledge sharing. Below are some examples:

  1. Mobilize a pre-service teacher PD day presentation
  2. Host a free or low-cost conference and invite alumni, faculty members, and experts from their network to present
  3. Host a social event at a university venue (e.g. online, restaurant, student centre, etc.) and invite students from different years and alumni to attend

Facilitated Leadership Opportunities

Within your academic program, there are many ways to develop and transfer your leadership skills. Engaging your PHE Chapter to facilitate leadership activities across the education program can be a great way to grow while empowering your classmates to develop their leadership skills. Below are some examples:

  1. Run an activity session during mental health week
  2. Organize an interactive session during back-to-school week at your university
