As part of the application form for the Quality (Daily) Physical Education Award, there is an assessment piece that will have you evaluate the quality and frequency of your physical education programming. Display Your Achievement

• Purchase a Quality (Daily) Physical Education Award banner to proudly hang in your school (gymnasium, foyer, etc.) for students, staff, parents/guardians, and visitors to see and recognize your dedication to the program.
• Frame and display your Quality (Daily) Physical Education Award certificate, Prime Minister Letter and PHE Canada President’s letter in a prominent location for all to see.

Plan an Awards Ceremony

• Invite local community members, parents/guardians, city/town councilors, politicians, sports personalities, amateur athletes (Olympic/Paralympic), and media to attend.
• Arrange for your School Board official to present the award (banner and/or certificate).

Communicate Your Achievement

• Contact the local media and let them know about your school’s great success. Feel free to use the sample media release template to customize for your school’s efforts. Simply send the news release as an email or fax to your local newspaper editors, radio, and/or television stations to share with the public.
• Write an article about your school’s program and submit it to your provincial teacher’s association, or other local publications that might be interested.
• Send the article and/or photographs to PHE Canada to spread the word and show others of your school’s achievement. When possible, PHE Canada will post this information on the website.

Since we have updated the standards on what defines a Quality (Daily) Physical Education program, we no longer have a differentiation between award levels by grade. The application will automatically assign you an award level based on your responses. To see the new standards and levels, please click here.

If your school does not automatically appear in the dropdown menu on the Quality (Daily) Physical Education Award application you can still apply! You can manually type in your school information. The 2017-2018 Quality (Daily) Physical Education application deadline is Wednesday, March 21, 2018.

PHE Canada will only be accepting award package purchases up until Friday, March 30, 2018.

The deadline for this year’s Quality (Daily) Physical Education is to ensure that all schools receive their award before the end of the school year. This will allow for ample time to showcase and promote your award through year-end celebrations and ceremonies.

Once you have submitted your Quality (Daily) Physical Education application, you will receive a confirmation email notifying you of the status of your award (congratulations or regret email). The congratulations email (sent to the PE leader and cc’d to the principal) will provide a secure link in which you can click on to purchase a banner by credit card or purchase order. If you wish to receive an invoice to purchase a banner, please email your request to [email protected]
