Dan Steeves BEd, D.A.U.S, MAEd
Health Promotion Team Leader, Nova Scotia Health Authority's Mental Health and Addictions Program
Dan is has 25+ years of front line leadership experience in the Nova Scotia Mental Health and Addictions system at both the provincial and local level. He is currently the Health Promotion Team Leader for the Nova Scotia Health Authority's Mental Health and Addictions Program. Dan also a part time faculty member at Mount Saint Vincent University. Over his many years as a front-line leader Dan has served as an adolescent addictions counselor, a teacher, a substance abuse researcher, an adult treatment provider and a policy consultant. More recently, Dan has been exploring the culture of substance use in Nova Scotia and how it is impacting health, learning and communities. Dan is a sought-after presenter who has spoken about mental health and addiction issues throughout Canada, the US and the UK. He is a dedicated hockey dad who lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia with his wife, daughter and dog.
