Teachers: Mobilizing the Blueprint for Action Workshop

This workshop will offer strategies and resources to support you in preventing substance-related harms among youth using the Blueprint for Action. We all have a part to play in the prevention of substance-related harms and this course has been designed to specifically highlight the role of in-school teachers from elementary to high school. While specific activities may shift depending on the age of your students, the Blueprint for Action can be used as a guide and be of value. The principles and approaches underpinning the Blueprint can be relevant for all students.

The aims of this workshop are to:

  1. Highlight the need to approach substance use among youth in a different way
  2. Introduce the approaches and interventions of the Blueprint for Action
  3. Encourage you to reflect on existing school policies, beliefs, and approaches to addressing substance use and its related harms among youth
  4. Outline the benefits of implementing the Blueprint for Action
  5. Identify specific actions for educators when implementing the Blueprint for Action
