Physical and Health Education Canada (PHE Canada) is excited to announce an extended partnership with Gopher, a leading international physical activity equipment supplier. Following 10 years of continued support for the PHE National Conference, in which Gopher provided Conference presenters with physical activity equipment to enhance delegate learning and conference experience – with that equipment then being donated to deserving local-area schools and school districts, Gopher is furthering its commitment to quality physical and health education in Canada as the Official Equipment Supplier of PHE Canada.
The new partnership will see Gopher support multiple new and existing initiatives to increase school and teacher capacity in delivering quality physical education experiences and physical activity opportunities for students across Canada, including:
- Continued support of the PHE National Conference, with thousands of dollars of physical activity equipment provided to conference presenters and then donated to deserving local-area schools and schools districts.
- Presenting Partner of PHE Canada’s PHE Teaching Excellence Award, with up to 3 recipients invited to the Gopher/Spark Training Course, with all expenses paid.
- The establishment of an Equipment Grant Program, under PHE Canada’s PHE Empowerment Grants, providing up to $10,000 in Gopher gift certificates to deserving schools to purchase needed physical activity equipment.
“We are thrilled and truly appreciative of this new and extended partnership with Gopher,” said Melanie Davis, PHE Canada Executive Director and CEO. “This partnership will bring more services and supports to schools, teachers, and students across the country, supporting equitable access to the benefits of quality physical and health education and healthy learning environments, helping more children and youth develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to lead resilient, active, and healthy lives.”
“At Gopher, we just love PHE Canada’s mission and we share in the desire to provide the tools & resources to support teachers and schools across Canada,” said Jonathan Faloon, Brand Director at Gopher. “This will help in bringing the best physical education and health programs to their students. Ultimately, we believe students will live healthier, more successful lives when they have access to quality physical education and they intrinsically believe in the power of movement for themselves. With this partnership, we hope to make an even bigger impact in doing just that.”
Starting next school year, be sure to stay tuned for more news and updates as it relates to these exciting new developments, thanks to Gopher!
