PHE Canada is thrilled to introduce Kellie Baker as the new president of our organization. With 30 years of experience in physical and health education, Kellie brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and a bold vision for the future of our field.

As an educator, researcher, and leader, Kellie has dedicated her career to developing innovative school programs and university courses. Her research focuses on Models-Based Practice and social justice in physical education, driving meaningful change within classrooms and communities. Kellie is also an advocate for advancing health literacy, supporting educators and students in developing health enhancing skills across multiple dimensions of well-being and well-becoming.

When she’s not busy reshaping the future of physical and health education, Kellie can be found enjoying life’s simple pleasures. Whether she’s walking her dog, braving the ocean waves for a swim (as long as it’s warm!), or attempting to master the art of kayaking, Kellie’s zest for life is infectious. She’s even determined to conquer a kayak roll someday!

As president, Kellie is committed to fostering inclusivity, innovation, and collaboration within the physical and health education community. Her leadership will undoubtedly inspire progress and help us navigate the challenges ahead while building a brighter, healthier future for all.

Welcome, Kellie! We’re eager to move forward with your leadership and passion, shaping an exciting future for PHE Canada together.
