Danielle Bates

Danielle has earned a BHSc, MHSc in Kinesiology and BEd from Ontario Tech University and is now an Ontario College of Teachers member. Under the supervision of Dr. Serene Kerpan, she completed her master’s thesis investigating teachers’ capacity to include and engage girls in PE. In addition to her studies, Danielle is a professional dance educator and choreographer and enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family, friends and dog.

[ Feature Article ] This article features the PHE Canada Student Chapter at Ontario Tech University (OTU). OTU was the first established PHE Canada Student Chapter who set the stage for others across Canada. We interviewed the executive members: Danielle Bates, Michael Palermo, Jenna Kastanas, Nicole Cannata, and Meghan Homeniuk to learn about their experience and how the Chapter has supported their growth and development as PHE educators and champions.
