At My Best Play Days Celebrates Healthy Schools and Students Across the Country

2023 At My Best Play Days

As part of 2023 At My Best Play Days, PHE Canada is pleased to announce that seven deserving schools have been selected to receive the At My Best grant of $1,000 each. This funding will advance various initiatives focusing on physical activity, healthy eating, and emotional well-being within the schools. One teacher shared their plans for their funding: "We will utilize the funds to acquire calming kits for our classrooms, including fidget and sensory kits, stress balls, fidget spinners, and noise-canceling headphones. These resources are vital for supporting students who continue to experience anxieties after the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic."

We wish to congratulate the following recipient schools:

  • Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School - ON
  • Wellington School - MB
  • Glen Falls School - NB
  • Saint Theresa School - AB
  • Bayside Academy- NL
  • Port Maitland Consolidated Elementary School - NS
  • Stewart Nicks School - SK

These schools have exemplified an exceptional commitment to their student's well-being, and we applaud their ongoing efforts to promote holistic well-being among their students.

To celebrate the 2023 At My Best Play Days, personalized At My Best activity kits were distributed to 1,500 students. These kits serve as a fantastic resource to keep the students active and engaged in healthy behaviors during the school year and the upcoming summer. Each kit includes a skipping rope, bean bags, a ball, and an activity card, encouraging students to embrace movement and have fun while doing so.

We are inspired by these teachers' dedication and commitment to providing students with new and engaging ways to nurture their well-being. As one teacher involved in this year's At My Best program put it, "providing our students with new and engaging ways to move their bodies will help develop a love for movement, improve their emotional well-being, and enhance their overall physical literacy levels."

Thanks to the long-term support of our program partners, AstraZeneca and Saputo, we continue to support teachers across Canada in making meaningful impacts, in schools and beyond.
