Supporting Gender Diverse Students

2SLGBTQ+ students continue to experience significant barriers to participation in physical and health education and school-based physical activity programs.

To help increase accessibility to quality programming and promote engagement, PHE Canada, in partnership with Dr. Travers of Simon Fraser University and LJ Slovin of University of British Columbia, has developed Journey to 2SLGBTQ+ Inclusion: A Game for Educators.

Through the journey, educators will explore scenarios and practices, reflect on their own practices, and consider how to reduce or eliminate barriers. Increase your knowledge of the diverse experiences that students from the 2SLGBTQ+ community endure in school and in the school community and discover ways to improve your classrooms and teaching practices to create safer physical and social spaces.
