Lancaster Wellness Hub came to fruition out of growing concern for the emotional well-being of students and staff. Results from a school-wide survey revealed that students and staff felt either anxious, stressed, upset, or nervous before and/or during school.
Promising Practice - Youth Wellness Mentors
The Youth Wellness Mentors program includes high school wellness mentors identifying the positive coping skills and knowledge they had acquired as they navigated the challenges of high school and sharing these with grade 9 students.

This initiative is focused on creating spaces within the physical and social environment for improving mental health. Natural improvements to the playground and existing outdoor spaces will allow students to play and learn in a nurturing outdoor setting, as opposed to an industrial one.
