Teacher help
Teacher Help is an eHealth program that assists classroom teachers in providing evidence-based interventions to students in grades 1-12. Teacher Help currently focuses on ADHD, ASD, and LD.
The goals of Teacher Help are to reduce students’ mental health symptoms and impairment and to increase students’ quality of life. To achieve these goals, Teacher Help aims to increase positive belief systems toward students with Neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) by increasing teachers’ mental health literacy/knowledge with respect to NDDs.
A second aim is to support teachers in developing and implementing evidence-based strategies to use in the classroom. There is a separate 6-session module for ADHD, ASD, and LD. Each module focuses on building knowledge of the disorder and guiding teachers through implementing evidence-based interventions in the classroom while promoting communication, collaboration, and self-care. Specific interventions will depend on the module as these vary among disorders. Each session is approximately 1-hour in length.
