Promising practice
This article describes the evaluation of Caring Skills, a program developed for licensed care staff working in long-term care facilities. The program provided video-based behaviour skills and knowledge training. The courses were designed to be 10–30 minutes in length and to embrace a person-centered care philosophy. That is, a resident's potentially problematic behaviour is viewed as an expression of an unmet need, rather than just a behaviour to be managed.
