Ventures Program

This promising practice highlights the Ventures Program at an alternative high school located in British Columbia. The Ventures Program combines physical education, outdoor education, and leadership with the aim of improving mental health among at-risk students. Students learned how movement, activity, and the outdoor environment impacts their mental wellness. The program is staffed by trained mental health professionals and results of the program include increased attendance rates and increased academic achievement among students in this program.
